Spanish car sales drop by 50%
Car sales fall 50% in July.
The sale of private cars in Spain has fallen 50% in 2010 during the month of July. The end of 2000E Plan (€2,000 for your old car to be scraped against a new car purchase) coupled with the rise of I.V.A., has caused the industry insiders to describe the situation as "dramatic". The automakers association ANFAC said in a statement that trading volume returned the sector to "levels of 15 years ago" and they noted that sales will continue to deteriorate due to the sharp cut of 60% in orders registered in recent weeks.

ART EXHIBITION AND COMPETITION AT PROCOMOBEL AND MONCAYO MARKET, N332, GUARDAMAR, ON AUGUST 22ND.
If you enjoy the pleasure of painting, come and join us on Sunday morning 22 August at Procomobel – more than just a furniture store! – Here there will be an exhibition and competition for all artists, young, not so young, beginners and experienced artists. There will be prizes and certificates for all mediums and sections will be under 14’s 14 upwards in pastels, and under 14 and 14 upwards in all other mediums. Ideally we would like you to display your work on your own easel. The competition is just €5 per entry and all monies raised will go to the charity Paul Cunningham Nurses.

There will also be a FREE TO ENTER competition for all children up to the age of 12. These paintings will be displayed on a flat surface and must have the name, age and registration number clearly on the front of the painting, no bigger than A3 size. For those of you who have always wanted to paint but so far have not tried, we will have some seasoned artists on hand to give you advice, so whether you want to take part or just take a look, do come along and be wowed by your local talent.
The Moncayo Sunday Market continues to expand and every week from live entertainment to exotic food tasting or flamenco dancing there is always something different and there is always the excitement of the €1 raffle where for the last 8 weeks with just €1 for 50 numbers some lucky person has won a fantastic bike!
Next week the first prize will again be a bike, with lunch for 2 at La Herradura in Los Montesinos as second prize! The first prize is generously donated by The Moncayo Sunday Market and all proceeds from this raffle go to support Paul Cunningham Nurses.
From next week there are plans to have a children’s area with all sorts of fun things for children to do!
