Local artists such as Stevie Spit, Greg March, and Ricardo (other artists are pending confirmation) along with Paso A Paso Modern Jive Club are ready to set the Venue alight, to raise funds for La Safor Severely Mentally and Physically Handicapped Centre, The Preventorio in Gandia and Charity for Charities.
La Safor is a wonderful Centre for severely mentally and physically handicapped people, the Centre is run by a Board of Parents who have raised the money to build and open La Safor, they have minimum Government funding and we are particularly looking to fund a hoist for their hydrotherapy pool as almost all of the service users need help and support to walk or move, the hoist will open up a whole new environment to many people and aid in their improved mobility.
Many of the parents have campaigned and done fundraising for 30 years to open this facility that houses 40 people and day care for a further 30, they have a training centre there to enable each individual to achieve their fullest potential.
The Preventorio is the Convent that has looked after children since the mid fifties, originally an orphanage but nowadays encourages the extended family to be involved in the children’s lives, whilst their parents are absent or unable to care for them. The Sisters care for up to 50 children at any time, many spending several years in the Home. We are looking to start the funding for 2 part time teachers, one to teach PE and the other English to enhance the curriculum and the development of the children.
Charity for Charities raises much needed funds for many local Charities without distinguishing between age, creed or beliefs, also many animal caring establishments have benefited from their fundraising.
All the money raised on the night will be distributed between these three very worthwhile entities,
Steve has donated the use of The Venue, the artist have pledged their time, so we would like to you come along and enjoy a wonderful evening and support us in supporting others.
